Our Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 11, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how LLC "Functionsoft" (Ukraine, company number 45258227, 23 Dniprovska Naberezhna, Kyiv 02081, Ukraine; billing@codebrix.io) collects, uses, and protects personal data when you use the Equation Solver browser extension and the website at equationsolver.cc (together, the "Service").
1. Data We Collect
We process the following categories of personal data:
- Usage and analytics data. How you interact with the website and the extension — features used, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, and diagnostic information. This data helps us keep the Service working correctly and improve it over time.
- Billing information. When you purchase a paid plan, Paddle (our payment processor and Merchant of Record) shares with us your email address, country, plan status, and transaction identifiers. We do not receive or store your full card number or other sensitive payment details.
- Communications data. If you contact us for support or other reasons, we retain the messages you send and the contact details you provide.
Equations and mathematical content. The equations and mathematical content you submit are processed to provide solutions and step-by-step explanations. We do not use your submitted content to train machine-learning models, and we do not retain it longer than necessary to deliver the Service.
2. How We Use Your Data
We process personal data for the following purposes and on the following legal bases:
- Providing and operating the Service — processing is necessary to perform our contract with you.
- Processing payments and preventing fraud — necessary for contract performance and our legitimate business interests in security.
- Maintaining, securing, and improving the Service — our legitimate interests, and where legally required, your consent.
- Communicating with you — necessary for contract performance and our legitimate interests in customer support.
- Complying with legal obligations — for example, tax and accounting requirements.
Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
3. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Our website uses strictly necessary cookies required to operate the site and keep it secure. We may also use analytics and preference cookies that help us understand usage patterns and remember your settings. You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings; note that some functionality may be impaired if you do so.
4. How We Share Your Data
We share personal data only as described below:
- Service providers — companies that help us operate the Service (hosting, analytics, security, customer support) under data-processing agreements that require them to protect your information.
- Paddle — our payment processor and Merchant of Record, which handles billing on our behalf.
- Legal authorities — when required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, or property.
- Successor entities — in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may transfer to the successor, subject to the same protections.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
5. Third-Party Subprocessors
Certain third-party providers process personal data on our behalf in areas such as payment processing, hosting, analytics, customer support, and security. Each subprocessor is bound by contractual obligations to protect data in accordance with our instructions. A current list of our subprocessors is available on request at billing@codebrix.io.
6. International Data Transfers
Some subprocessors operate outside Ukraine, the European Union, or the European Economic Area. Where such transfers occur, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision to ensure your data receives an equivalent level of protection.
7. How Long We Keep Your Data
We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described above. Billing records are retained for as long as required by applicable tax and accounting laws. Usage and analytics data is deleted or anonymised once it is no longer needed. We review and dispose of data that has passed its retention period on a regular basis.
8. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. While no system is completely secure, we respond promptly to any identified incidents and take appropriate remedial steps.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
- request erasure of your data;
- restrict or object to certain processing;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time (where processing is consent-based).
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at billing@codebrix.io. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the data-protection authority in your jurisdiction.
10. Children
The Service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone below the age required by applicable law. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
